| What is the West Sacramento Neighbors Fair? The West Sacramento Neighbors Fair is the city's biggest and best free community event. Created in 2001 to foster public awareness and greater understanding of the various ethnic groups of West Sacramento, the Neighbors Fair provides a safe and welcoming environment to demonstrate and help promote the heritages represented in our fast growing community. Nearly 4,000 people attended last year's event. Each year features great live music, dance and music exhibitions while sampling the ethnic arts and crafts, attractions and collections, community organizations, a city-wide business pavilion, an interactive and fun, fun, fun KidZone and many delicious ethnic food booths. The 2007 Neighbors Fair will be held at the River Walk Park, 651 2 nd Street, at the base of the Ziggurat Building which has the best view of Old Sacramento and the Sacramento skyline and is between the "I" Street Bridge and Tower Bridge. Festivities start with the Juried Art Show at City Hall, 1110 West Capitol Avenue, on Wednesday, October 3 through Friday, October 5th. Visit the Galleria during business hours and enjoy all the local works of art. On Saturday, October 6, 2007 following the annual Neighbors Fair Parade , which has a NEW route starting at 11a.m. the parade will begin and end at 3rd and G Streets. The Neighbors Fair opens at 12 noon with an anticipation of nearly 5,000 visitors. You can enjoy lunch and dinner this year because at 7p.m. we kick off the 20th Anniversary City Hood Celebration FIREWORKS display over the Sacramento River for all to enjoy and the best part…it's totally FREE! [ West Sacramento Neighbor Fair's mission is to strengthen the community and promote West Sacramento's progressive and distinct identity to the region by fostering civic identity and unification through reinforcing West Sacramento's rich multi-cultural heritage and recognizing the unique contribution and value its diverse ethnic communities make and have to West Sacramento, by encouraging civic participation and respect among its citizens, and by creating an awareness among West Sacramento's residents of its unique place in the region now and for the future. ]Entire Day is Free Admission
