Sacred and Shared: The Larry Hoover Collection of Mexican Masks

La Raza Galeria Posada announces the world premiere of this unique exhibition, opening Saturday, September 12, 2009. This private collection will showcase forty masks from all across Mexico, from the northernmost state of Sonora to the southernmost state of Chiapas.
The West Sacramento Neighbors Fair is proud to present a sampling of this exciting show at our upcoming Fair. Meet Larry Hoover and learn the story of his personal journey and escapades searching for the next unique conquest to add to his growing collection of Mexican masks, dating from the early 1900s to now. The Ducks are Coming!!
At 3pm, thousands of rubber ducks will descend on the mighty Sacramento River for the Great Sacramento Duck Race - an exciting bridge to bridge race benefiting
Special Olympics Northern California. Using frontloading tractors, the racing rubber birdies will be ceremoniously dumped off the I Street Bridge and will race to the Tower Bridge in hopes of winning one of many fabulous grand prizes.
On race day, both sides of the beautiful Sacramento River will be buzzing with activities that are fun for the whole flock! Old Sacramento’s “Duck Central” at Waterfront and at West Sacramento Neighbors Fair at RiverWalk Park.
